The Macon Touchdown Club, OrthoGeorgia Players of the Week, for the Week of November 26th

OrthoGeorgia Back of the Week: Jackson Freel, Senior RB/DB, Covenant Academy. Jackson had 35 carries for 247 yards. He also added 54 yards on 2 kickoff returns. From his cornerback position, Jackson accounted for 7 tackles and 3 assists in his team’s 50-28 State Championship Win over Johnson Ferry Christian Academy.

 

OrthoGeorgia Lineman of the Week: Jacob Moore, Senior Guard/DE, Covenant Academy. At his guard position, Jacob accounted for 8 pancake blocks and helped his team amass 407 rushing yards, and 484 yards of offense on 83 plays. On defense, Jacob had 4 tackles, 1 assist, 1 tackle for loss and a fumble recovery in his team’s 50-28 State Championship Win over Johnson Ferry Christian Academy.

The Macon Touchdown Club, OrthoGeorgia Players of the Week, for the Week of November 19th

OrthoGeorgia Co-Back of the Week: Travion Solomon, Senior Quarterback, Northeast High School. Travion completed 17 of 24 passes for 254 yards, and 1 Touchdown. He also rushed 13 times for 72 yards and a Touchdown in his team’s 26-20 Win over Haralson County.

 

OrthoGeorgia Co-Back of the Week: John Alan Richter, Senior Quarterback, Jones County High School. John Alan completed 29 of 36 attempts for 347 yards and 3 Touchdowns. He also rushed 5 times for 29 yards and 2 Touchdowns in his team’s 66-42 Win over Eastside.

 

OrthoGeorgia Lineman of the Week: Cadricus Stanley, Junior Nose Tackle, Northeast High School. Cadricus accounted for 9 tackles and 2 tackles for loss in his team’s 26-20 Win over Haralson County.

 

OrthoGeorgia Special Teams Player of the Week: Evan West, Senior Kicker/Punter, Jones County High School. On the night, Evan had a 54 yard punt, a 45 yard Field Goal, 2 kickoffs for touchbacks, and 9 PAT’s. He was 3 for 3 on onside kicks in the game, recovering 2 himself, and had a touchdown saving tackle on a Kickoff. On the night, Evan accounted for 341 kicking yards in his team’s 66-42 Win over Eastside.

We had Brian Jordan with us tonight, and it was a great night. A two sport athlete in college, followed by a two sport Pro athlete. Brian had a great career in MLB, but also has 3 great years in the NFL. Brian has a personality that draws you to him. A great night at the Macon Touchdown Club.

The Macon Touchdown Club, OrthoGeorgia Players of the Week, for the Week of November 12th

OrthoGeorgia Co-Back of the Week: Travion Solomon, Senior Quarterback, Northeast High School. Travion completed 15 of 19 passes for 227 yards and 2 Touchdowns. He also rushed 6 times for 116 yards and 2 Touchdowns in his team’s 42-22 playoff Win over Cook.

 

OrthoGeorgia Co-Back of the Week: John Alan Richter, Senior Quarterback, Jones County High School. John Alan went 22 of 26 passing for 270 yards and 3 Touchdowns. He also rushed for a 15-yard Touchdown run in his team’s playoff Win over Griffin.

 

OrthoGeorgia Lineman of the Week: Camden Smith, Offensive Guard, First Presbyterian Day School. Cameron graded out at 91% and had 7 pancake blocks on the night, in his team’s 21-14 playoff Win over Aquinas.

All I can say is, if you missed the Macon Touchdown Club meeting tonight, it was your loss. We had the pleasure of not one, but two great speakers with us. Terry Harvin, former kicker and National Champion at Georgia Southern. and current General Manager of Georgia Southern Properties, was with us. We also had the pleasure of having Coach Clay Helton, new Head Coach at Georgia Southern with us.

OthoGeorgia Co-Back of the Week: Ja’lon Miller, Senior Quarterback, Westside High School. Ja’lon completed 12 of 23 passes for 293 yards and 1 Touchdown in his team’s game against West Laurens.

 

OrthoGeorgia Co-Back of the Week: Demario Williams, Junior Running Back/Defensive Back, Tattnall Square Academy. Demario rushed 19 times for 215 yards and 3 Touchdowns. He also recorded 3 tackles from his defensive position in his team’s 61-33 win over Mount de Sales.

 

OrthoGeorgia Lineman of the Week: Cam Person, Junior Linebacker, Tattnall Square Academy. Cam accounted for 9 tackles, 2 assists, and 3 tackles for loss in his team’s win over Mount de Sales.

The Macon Touchdown Club, OrthoGeorgia Players of the Week, for the Week of October 29th

OrthoGeorgia Back of the Week: Fernando Washington, Junior Running Back/Linebacker, Mount de Sales Academy. Fernando rushed 32 times for 231 yards and 2 Touchdowns. From his Linebacker position, Fernando accounted for 6 tackles in his team’s 14-10 win over Deerfield-Windsor. His performance on Friday marked his third week in a row of topping 200 plus yards on the ground.

 

OrthoGeorgia Lineman of the Week: D’Aren Igho Osagie, Junior Defensive Lineman, First Presbyterian Day School. D’Aren totaled 7 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 2 caused fumbles and a fumble recovery in his team’s 14-7 win over Stratford Academy.

 

OrthoGeorgia Special Teams Player of the Week: Jake Prather, Junior Kicker/Punter, Academy for Classical Education. On the night, Jake averaged 47 yards per punt, including one of 61 yards in his team’s game against undefeated GMC.

The Macon Touchdown Club, OrthoGeorgia Players of the Week, for the Week of October 22nd – Updated

OrthoGeorgia Back of the Week: Clay Rowland, Senior Quarterback/Defensive Back, Tattnall Square Academy. At quarterback, Clay completed 11-19 passes for 190 yards and a Touchdown. He also completed a pass for the game winning 2 point conversion. On defense, Clay had 12 tackles and 3 assists in his teams 42-41 overtime win against Stratford Academy.

OrthoGeorgia Special Teams Player of the Week: Brayden Smith, Junior Receiver/Kick returner, Tattnall Square Academy. Brayden return a punt 70 yards for a Touchdown in his team’s overtime win against Stratford. On the night, Brayden also hauled in 6 receptions for 106 yards and a Touchdown.

OrthoGeorgia Lineman of the Week for October 22nd: Marquis Hughes, Senior Defensive End, Northeast High School. Marquis accounted for 8 tackles, 2 sacks and 4 tackles for loss in his team’s 21-7 win over Dodge County.

Marquis was recognized at the Macon Touchdown Club’s meeting on Monday, October 25th.

The Macon Touchdown Club, OrthoGeorgia Players of the Week, for the Week of October 15th

OrthoGeorgia Co-Back of the Week: Jha’Rius Evans, Senior Quarterback/Defensive Back, Central High School. Jha’Rius went 9 of 16 passing for 137 yards and 1 Touchdown. He also had 9 rushing attempts for 75 yards and 2 Touchdowns. On defense, he accounted for 4 tackles and 1 pass breakup. He also had 3 punts averaging 38 yards per kick in his team’s 21-14 win over Sumter County.

 

OrthoGeorgia Co-Back of the Week for October: Blayze Dennis, Senior Quarterback, Windsor Academy. Blayze was 8 of 14 passing for 157 yards and 2 Touchdowns. He also rushed 29 times for 235 yards and 3 Touchdowns. Blayze also accounted for 5 rushing 2 point conversions on the night. In total, he combined for 392 all purpose yards in his team’s 58-33 win over defending State Champion Westwood.

 

OrthoGeorgia Lineman of the Week: Elijah Heald, Senior Offensive Lineman, Windsor Academy. Elijah graded out at 90% on the night, including 7 pancake blocks in his team’s 58-33 win over defending State Champion Westwood.

 

OrthoGeorgia Back of the Week for October 8th: John Alan Richter, Senior Quarterback, Jones County High School. John completed 29 of 37 passes for 307 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also rushed 6 times for 37 yards and 1 Touchdown. He also caught the game tying 2 point conversion that send the game into overtime. The Greyhounds went on to score the winning touchdown in overtime for the win over Ola 48-42.

The Macon Touchdown Club, OrthoGeorgia Players of the Week, for the Week of October 8th

OrthoGeorgia Lineman of the Week: Coleman Cauley, Senior Linebacker, First Presbyterian Day School. Coleman accounted for 16 tackles and had a forced fumble on a punt in his team’s 20-0 shutout of previously unbeaten rival Tattnall Square Academy.

 

OrthoGeorgia Special Teams Player of the Week: Evan West, Senior Kicker, Jones County High School. Even went 4 for 4 on Field Goals, including 2 from 44 yards, a 39 yarder, and a 32 yarder. He was 2 for 2 on PAT’s. His kickoff yardage totaled 405 yards with 2 touchbacks on the night. He also averaged 49 yards punting and had a touchdown saving tackle on a kickoff in his team’s 48-42 overtime win over Ola.

These players were recognized by the Macon Touchdown Club during our meeting on Monday, October 11th.

The Macon Touchdown Club, OrthoGeorgia Players of the Week, for the Week of October 1st

OrthoGeorgia Back of the Week: Travion Solomon, Senior Quarterback, Northeast High School. Travion was 19-27 passing for 207 yards and 1 TD. He added 16 rushes for 164 yards, and 2 TD’s. On the night Travion accounted for 371 All Purpose yards in his team’s 27-23 win over Washington County.

 

OrthoGeorgia Lineman of the Week: Trey Butts, Senior Center/Defensive Tackle, Mount de Sales Academy. From his Center position, Trey graded out at 96%, including 10 pancake blocks. From his Defensive Tackle position, Trey had 8 tackles in team’s 35-7 win over Aquinas.

 

OrthoGeorgia Special Teams Player of the Week: Jake Prather, Junior Kicker, Academy for Classical Education. Jake had 3 kickoffs for Touchbacks, a 40-yard FG, and he had a net punting average 47 yards on the night. Two of his punts were downed inside the 10 and 15 yard lines, in his team’s 30-14 win over Crawford County.

Another great night at the Macon Touchdown Club. We had the pleasure of having Coach Chris Hatcher of Samford University as our speaker tonight. Chris is a Macon native, and played his high school football at Mount de Sales Academy. On the night that he won Player of the Week at the Macon Touchdown Club, he was offered a chance to play at Valdosta State University. He ended up being a 2 time All American QB and winner of the Harland Hill Trophy, which is the Heisman for Division II.
