The Macon Touchdown Club, OrthoGeorgia Players of the Week, for the Week of November 5th

OthoGeorgia Co-Back of the Week: Ja’lon Miller, Senior Quarterback, Westside High School. Ja’lon completed 12 of 23 passes for 293 yards and 1 Touchdown in his team’s game against West Laurens.

 

OrthoGeorgia Co-Back of the Week: Demario Williams, Junior Running Back/Defensive Back, Tattnall Square Academy. Demario rushed 19 times for 215 yards and 3 Touchdowns. He also recorded 3 tackles from his defensive position in his team’s 61-33 win over Mount de Sales.

 

OrthoGeorgia Lineman of the Week: Cam Person, Junior Linebacker, Tattnall Square Academy. Cam accounted for 9 tackles, 2 assists, and 3 tackles for loss in his team’s win over Mount de Sales.

Terry Harvin to speak November 15

Terry Harvin was appointed by the Learfield IMG College, the university’s athletics multimedia rightsholder, as the general manager for Georgia Southern Sports Properties in April 2021. He leads the day-to-day operations for locally based GA Southern Sports Properties and oversees the growth and development of the Eagles’ corporate partner platform and serves as the primary Learfield IMG College liaison with the Director of Athletics and the Athletics Administration. He has been the Eagles’ radio color analyst and Director of Development for the GA Southern Athletic Foundation/Atlanta Region. While a student, he was a GA Southern punter and four-year letterman. He has served the University as President of the GS Alumni Association, donor development for the Athletic Foundation as in a leadership role with the Eagle Football Alumni Association. Outside of his substantial ties to the Eagles, he is also the former senior vice president of sales and marketing for Kimco Services, LLC and vice president of business development for Macon Occupational Medicine.

The Macon Touchdown Club, OrthoGeorgia Players of the Week, for the Week of October 29th

OrthoGeorgia Back of the Week: Fernando Washington, Junior Running Back/Linebacker, Mount de Sales Academy. Fernando rushed 32 times for 231 yards and 2 Touchdowns. From his Linebacker position, Fernando accounted for 6 tackles in his team’s 14-10 win over Deerfield-Windsor. His performance on Friday marked his third week in a row of topping 200 plus yards on the ground.

 

OrthoGeorgia Lineman of the Week: D’Aren Igho Osagie, Junior Defensive Lineman, First Presbyterian Day School. D’Aren totaled 7 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 2 caused fumbles and a fumble recovery in his team’s 14-7 win over Stratford Academy.

 

OrthoGeorgia Special Teams Player of the Week: Jake Prather, Junior Kicker/Punter, Academy for Classical Education. On the night, Jake averaged 47 yards per punt, including one of 61 yards in his team’s game against undefeated GMC.

The Macon Touchdown Club, OrthoGeorgia Players of the Week, for the Week of October 22nd – Updated

OrthoGeorgia Back of the Week: Clay Rowland, Senior Quarterback/Defensive Back, Tattnall Square Academy. At quarterback, Clay completed 11-19 passes for 190 yards and a Touchdown. He also completed a pass for the game winning 2 point conversion. On defense, Clay had 12 tackles and 3 assists in his teams 42-41 overtime win against Stratford Academy.

OrthoGeorgia Special Teams Player of the Week: Brayden Smith, Junior Receiver/Kick returner, Tattnall Square Academy. Brayden return a punt 70 yards for a Touchdown in his team’s overtime win against Stratford. On the night, Brayden also hauled in 6 receptions for 106 yards and a Touchdown.

Tashard Choice speaker for November 8

Choice is a two-time Atlantic Coast Conference rushing champion, former NFL running back and the current Running Backs Coach at GA Tech. Before entering the coaching ranks, he enjoyed a six-year NFL career, playing 88 games with the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts. He totaled more than 2,000 yards as a pro (1579 rushing, 574 receiving and 89 on kick returns) and scored 10 touchdowns. Choice is one of the most decorated running backs in GA Tech history and was inducted into the Georgia Tech Sports Hall of Fame. He is a two-time member of the ACC academic honor roll and graduated from Tech in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in history, technology and society.
