Macon Touchdown Club Educational Foundation, Inc
The Macon Touchdown Club Educational Foundation was established in 1987 to honor outstanding scholar athletes from Macon and Bibb County. The club had started an annual scholarship awards program in 1983, but was able to increase the awards substantially with the formation of the Foundation.
An initial gift of $50,000 from the Middle Georgia Business League was made to the Foundation which serves as an endowment fund for scholarships. The endowment is now more than $160,000.
The Foundation, while associated with the Macon Touchdown Club, is a totally separate corporation with it’s own board of trustees. The foundation board meets annually in August.
The Touchdown Club holds an annual Middle Georgia Kick-off Classic, and annual Boston Butt Sale to benefit the Foundation.
Since 1987, the Foundation has awarded over $420,000 in scholarships for college bound scholar athletes from the Macon and Bibb County area.
